Saturday 14th September 2013, the much buzzed about DSTV Basketball Throwdown took place at the University of Lagos Indoor Sport Hall, Akoka, Lagos.

The star studded celebrity challenge event was organised by urban music channel Channel O and MultiChoice Nigeria/DSTV for the company’s 20th celebration.

The teams were the Channel O Basketball Team (Ikechukwu “Killz”, Tee Billz, Sound Sultan, Skales, Melvin Oduah, M.I., Ghost of Show Dem Camp, Nanle, Gideon Okeke and Gbenro Ajibade) and Beat 99.9 FM Team (Darey Art-Alade, Praiz, Bovi, Jimmie Akinsola, Douglas Jeken, DJ Caise, Lere Awokoya, Steve of JJC, Karma and Blackah of Naija Ninja).

After going head-to-head on the basketball court, the Beat FM team emerged winners of the competition. Defeating Channel O 18 to 17.

With performances by Olamide and Burna Boy, the event also saw other stars in attendance including Tiwa Savage, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Beverly Osu and D’banj.
