Eto, Gyan And Drogba
Samuel Eto’o Fils Monday emerged the 2010 African Footballer of the year beating his Ivorian challenger, Didier Drogba and Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan. It is the Camerounian skipper’s fourth African title after winning it in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
After winning almost everything in football with Catalan giants, Barcelona, he joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2009 and played a vital role as the Nerrazzurri completed a treble of Serie A title, Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League. On the international scene, he was part of the Cameroon team at the Angola 2010 CAN where he scored two goals in a tournament Camerounians would love to forget. He was also with Cameroun at the 2010 World Cup where the Indomitable Lions failed to win a single match.
The Cameroun hit man has been a constant feature in coach Rafael Benitez campaign in the Italian Serie A where he has scored ten goals this term.
Eto crowned his tremendous year with another mile-stone achievement when he helped Inter Milan of Italy win the FIFA Club World Cup in UAE last weekend.
