Cow killed, driver seriously injured in accident along Sapele road

A driver was seriously injured this morning when his vehicle struck a herd of cattle along Sapele road in Edo State, killing one of them.
The cows were grazing along the ever busy road at time of the accident.

At the time of the report, the herdsmen took to his heels leaving the wounded cow behind, while the lorry driver was directed to a nearby pharmaceutical shop for first aid treatments.

Several cases of highway accidents are being linked with grazing cows. Mostly at night,they use just torch to transport these cows.

You don't even know if it's the police, or robbers approaching you. On high speed you don't get to see them unless at close range which is very risky.

Repeatedly road users have pleaded with the government to create a road channel or easier means of transporting these livestocks other than through bush-path.
