Here’s What Happens When You Plant a Seed
1. The Awakening (Germination)
The seed absorbs water, swells, and activates. Enzymes wake up, breaking stored food to fuel growth. The root (radicle) pushes down, and the shoot (plumule) rises.
2. First Signs of Life
Tiny roots anchor into the soil. The stem breaks the surface, and cotyledons (seed leaves) appear — your plant is now visible!
3. Photosynthesis Begins
True leaves form and start converting sunlight into food — this powers the next stage of growth.
4. Establishment & Growth
Roots dig deeper, leaves multiply, and the plant gains strength. This is when nutrition, water, and sunlight matter most.
5. Reproduction
The mature plant produces flowers or buds, then fruits or seeds — and the cycle begins again.
For successful germination, four key conditions must be met: Moisture, Oxygen (air), Warmth (ideal temperature), and Viable seed quality
If these are not met, the seed won’t germinate properly.
This leads to:
Low plant population,
Uneven crop stands
Lower yields
Reduced profits
Every seed planted is an investment. Create the right conditions — and protect your profit from the ground up.
